Prayer

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” –Jesus (ESV)

Consistently, surveys tell us that 90% of Americans pray. What a staggering number.

When the word prayer is said, what comes to mind? My answer to this has evolved throughout my life, but most recently from a book by Philip Yancy titled, Prayer: Does it Make Any Difference? The depth of this book seeks to answer the ‘whys’ of prayer, but more importantly it teaches the beauty and relationship that prayer contains. The book has inspired me to share my thoughts, teeming with influence from Yancy, about prayer. Entering into the most powerful thing humans possess is delightful, but can prove confusing.
